Our Dog, Blue. is more than the director’s chronicle of his summer of rescuing a lost Cane Corso Puppy found randomly running down the highway. It is an evaluation of the importance of responsible dog breeding, puppy socialization and training. While the documentary is bittersweet demonstrating the love that the director’s family has for Blue and his love for the family, it also addresses with objective professionalism these more serious topics. The topic of euthanasia is handled with great sensitivity and the viewer ends up with a better understanding of the potential pitfalls of rescuing a guarding breed.
